DATADOG INTERACTIVE UPDATE 08.07
Hi,
Over time, portions of an email list will begin to spoil due to address changes, people switching jobs, etc. In our last issue we discussed how Data Dog’s deployment system uses technology to help battle list decay and keep your deliverability rate high.
In this issue we concentrate on what you can do to help keep your list flourishing. In order to stay one step ahead of the game it’s important to aggressively add people to your database. Check out the five list-building tips below.

1. Prominently display a subscribe button or link on every page of your site linking to the sign-up page for your email communiqué.
2. Ensure everyone in your organization is on board: customer service agents, administrative assistants, salespeople, janitors, purchasing agents, the IT department -- all the way up to the CEO.
Consider having employees add a subscription link below their signature file. For example it might say, “PS: Have you signed up for our eNewsletter yet? Click here to be the first to … find out about exclusive events, hear about classified company news, etc.”
3. Will you be hosting a special event, seminar, or tradeshow in the near future? Take advantage of the situation and collect data using printed data capture cards.
4. Put a subscription link on your existing email newsletter so that when a current list member forwards it to a friend, they can sign-up. For example, notice the subscribe button in the navigation bar above, as well as, the text footer below?
5. Grab target audience members online by using Google Ad Words. Data Dog offers a variety of unique data capture solutions including the five tips above. Need help? Just ask us how to get started.
