DATADOG INTERACTIVE UPDATE 03.2007
Hi,
Did you know that when we sent you this broadcast email newsletter, we actually delivered two separate versions of the message to your email inbox?
The process of sending the two versions together as a packet is called Multipart Email, and it’s something many email providers and software systems don’t offer. One version of the packet is a graphic HTML with pictures and the other version is plain text. Your email software is automatically set-up to determine which one you see.
Why does this matter to you?
Sending Multipart Email is critical in today’s complex email world for three main reasons:
1. Sending multipart email lowers your spam score and helps prevent your email from being filtered.
2. Many hand held devices, such as a Blackberry, only display text message. Your mobile audience grows daily!
3. If you are sending b2b mail many corporate environments still prohibit html email. Sending multipart ensures your readers get your message and are able to clickthrough to the full version with ease.
At Data Dog, we always send Multipart email to better ensure people get your messages and can read them. Using another company to send your mail? Ask them if they’re sending Multipart email.
